Frequently asked questions

Straight answers before launch.

Important limitations and next steps should be easy to find—not buried in small print.

Can I book now?+

Not yet. AK-LABS is pre-launch. Confirmed panels, clinic location, availability, prices and terms will be shown before bookings open.

Who is the service for?+

The planned service is for adults aged 18 and over. Final suitability and exclusion criteria will be published before payment.

Will I need to fast?+

Follow only the instructions for your chosen panel. Unless those final instructions say otherwise, the current plan uses an overnight fast with plain water. Never stop or change prescribed medicines unless an appropriate clinician tells you to.

How is the sample taken?+

A trained professional will use a venous collection procedure at the confirmed Manchester clinic after identity, consent and preparation checks.

Which laboratory will analyse it?+

The partner, relevant quality credentials, transport route and division of responsibilities will be published only after the arrangement and applicable scope have been verified.

How will I get results?+

Through the secure reporting route confirmed before booking. Ordinary email should not be used for sensitive results unless the final verified process expressly provides for it.

Is a clinician review included?+

No. The planned £99 clinician-led review is optional and separately booked. The clinician, format, duration, scope and limitations will be shown before payment.

What if a sample cannot be analysed?+

The final recollection, retest and refund policy will cover unsuccessful collection, unsuitable samples, transport problems and laboratory issues.

Does a panel replace my GP?+

No. Results are information, not a diagnosis, and the service does not replace emergency, primary or specialist care.

What if I feel seriously unwell?+

Do not wait for a private blood test. Call 999 or attend A&E for an immediate risk to life, and contact NHS 111 for urgent medical advice.

Information before payment

The booking journey will repeat the panel specification, total price, location, preparation, turnaround estimate, result route, cancellation terms and key clinical limitations before an order can be placed.
